I have known Dr. O'Connor for 17 years. Without a doubt, I have not ever met another doctor who gave the same level of care and attention to patients.
When Dr. O'Connor left the community of Fort McMurray, it was the last time I have had a doctor who actually cared enough to do more than medicate.
I would gladly travel to Nova Scotia to keep him as my family doctor. The fact that this man put his career on the line to stand up to government and demand on behalf of his patients, that they do the right thing, is something to be commended. Were it your family members living in a community that is plagued by rare disease, I am sure you would also applaud the man.

I have known Dr. John O'Connor as a caring, proficient and beloved physician within our community of Barrington Nova Scotia over many years.
He has always shown an incredible work ethic where the health of our community is concerned and consistently reaches out to touch the lives of those patients under his care.
In these times of depreciated health care it has been our blessing to have a physician who often delves into the cause of various ailments rather than stop at simply medicating the symptoms. Always willing to meet you half way, and stay the course with his patients through every step.
Commitment and compassion like that is rare indeed and I am sure that the people of Fort Chipewyan feel tremendous appreciation for this level of attention and care.
Certainly his professional practice affords him the innate ability to diagnose and recognize trends and abnormal occurrences of disease and ailments as are being found in this Alberta environment.
Surely stupidity, fear, guilt or other equally ridiculous reasons must exist for those efforts to silence and discredit a doctor of this calibre to prevail.
